This web site has begun collecting rail sounds from visitors to our site. If you would like to contribute to our sound collection, please contact:
We prefer sounds from Nickel Plate sources, but will except others in an effort to preserve and display those sounds that were a part of railroad history. Please do not send modern diesel sounds. We would appreciate either WMA (Windows Media Audio), MP3, or RM/RA (Real Media or Real Audio) file formats. You may submit WAV or AIFF files, but we reserve the right to convert them to a format with a smaller file size. Please do not submit commercial recordings of any kind or those that are copyrighted by another source other than yourself.
