These terms and conditions of use (Terms of Use) apply to the web site of the Nickel Plate Road Historical & Technical Society, Inc. located at NKPHTS.org. This site is the property of the Nickel Plate Road Historical & Technical Society, Inc. By using this site, you agree to the Terms of Use and the conditions contained therein. As long as you comply with these Terms of Use, the NKPHTS grants you personal, non-exclusive, non-transferrable, limited privilege to enter and use the Site. The information and content on this web site is provided exclusively for the use of NKPHTS members and visitors to the site and is protected by copyright laws and various other intellectual property rights. No portion or content of this web site may be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, transmitted or distributed in any way without the expressed written permission of the NKPHTS Internet Services Director, or unless stated otherwise within the web site. Such exceptions are specifically marked as "Approved for Download" and only items, material or information so marked qualify to be downloaded. Use of any portion of this web site for commercial or other unauthorized purposes is forbidden.

The NKPHTS logo (displayed in the upper left corner of this page) and the name "Nickel Plate Road" are registered trademarks of the Nickel Plate Road Historical & Technical Society, Inc. Any party who uses either trademark on web site applications and/or in printed materials must display either the ® symbol along with the usage or add a disclaimer somewhere in the material or application that states:

Privacy Policy

The NKPHTS does not gather information through non-interactive use of this web site. The web site does not apply cookies, glean IP addresses, or mine any other information about its web site visitors. The NKPHTS will only collect information under the following circumstances:

• Inquiries made to the NKPHTS through any of the NKPHTS email and/or postal addresses (found on the Contact page).
  • Your email and/or postal address is used only to respond to your inquiries and to send material to you as a direct result of your inquiry. Addresses are not stored for further use once the inquiry has been resolved.
  • Your inquiry may be forwarded to other sources such as, but not limited to, private individuals, online discussion groups, NKPHTS members, and outside information services. In some cases it may be necessary to include your personal information along with the inquiry to expedite responses. If you do not wish to have your personal information revealed at any point in the process, you must so stipulate in your inquiry.

• Company Store business initiated through the web site.
  • Information gathered through Company Store order forms and inquries is used only to complete your order or to resolve inquiries about an order.
  • Personal information collected by the Special Projects Director through Company Store activites will not be stored for further use.

• Yahoo!, Inc. NKPHTS-members Online Discussion Forum
  • By subscribing to the Yahoo!, Inc. NKPHTS-members Online Discussion Forum, you are giving permission for the NKPHTS to use your email address for the operation of this forum. Your email address will not be used for any other purpose.
  • When topics, questions, and information are discussed in the Yahoo!, Inc. NKPHTS-members Online Forum that may be of general interest to the entire Society membership as a whole, the information may be passed along to those NKPHTS members who are not part of the online community by way of, but not limited to, the NKPHTS Magazine and Newsletter. The source of the information will not be revealed without permission of the author.

• NKPHTS Online Membership Application Forms
  • The Nickel Plate Road Historical & Technical Society maintains a general policy whereby it does not sell or offer membership information to any other group or individual for any purpose. However, information from your application form and subsequent renewal or change of information forms may be used for internal purposes by the Society (e.g., provide information for the formation of local chapters). You will have the opportunity on each of the forms to opt out of the sharing of this information.

• NKPHTS Members Area
  Based on the Society's Privacy Policy, the registration information requested for the NKPHTS web site Members Area will not be shared with anyone or used in any manner other than the intent for which it was requested.

All possible effort will be made to maintain privacy relating to personal information, email addresses, etc. However, the webmaster and/or the NKPHTS, Inc. cannot guarantee the complete maintenance of privacy in situations and/or under circumstances beyond their control and, therefore, may not be held responsible for any such breach of privacy.

The Nickel Plate Road Historical & Technical Society, Inc. does not warrant or promise that the content of this site will be error-free or uninterrupted.
