As the NKPHTS Collections Management Director I wanted to have a place on the website where I could highlight items from our archives that I feel would be of interest to NKP historians, modelers, and fans.
The NKPHTS archives currently contain over a terabyte of digitized information and over 200 archival boxes of material that is organized, but not yet digitized. We are working on several digitizing initiatives.
The posts here may be an adjunct to an article in the Nickel Plate Road Magazine, NKPHTS published Nickel Plate Road Modeler’s Notebook, NKPHTS E-Newsletter, or stand-alone items i think people will find interesting.
The blog style posts will allow me the freedom to post periodically, and provide a mechanism to archive the older posts. Initially I plan to post at least once a month, so check back often.
